What is a Revisional Eyelid Surgery?
The eyes can be the most distinguishing feature of a person’s face. Unfortunately, that means that even the most subtle postoperative asymmetry or contour abnormality can be conspicuous. Although there are many reasons for revisional eyelid surgery, Dr. Vickers most often performs the procedure on patients who have received poor results from a previous surgery, such as an asymmetry or an overly “operated look.” In such cases, a “touch up” or revision is needed to make the eyelids look more symmetrical and natural.

Should I have an Oculoplastic Surgeon perform my Revisional Eyelid Surgery?
Dr. Vickers is a board-certified ophthalmologist with separate subspecialty training in oculoplastic surgery of the forehead, eyebrows, eyelids. As a specialist in oculoplastic surgery, Dr. Vickers is highly qualified to address your concerns. Revisional eyelid surgery is, however, one of the most difficult procedures a surgeon faces. Unlike the initial eyelid surgery, scar tissue and distorted tissue planes make the revisional surgery significantly more difficult than the original operation. That’s why Dr. Vickers feels that communication and realistic expectations are crucial.
