Lip Augmentation
Minimally invasive surgery
What is a Lip Augmentation?
Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure aimed at enhancing the fullness, shape, and overall appearance of the lips.
Few areas of facial cosmetic enhancement have attracted more negative attention than over-done lips. Celebrities sometimes appear with “duck lips” that are outlandish and unnatural. This type of lip augmentation does not happen accidentally and is the result of either a patient request or over-zealous injector.
Dr. Vickers proceeds in gradual increments with lip augmentation and enhancement that will look natural and restore a youthful volume and contour to your lips. Additionally, he only uses products that are dissolvable so that if you aren’t satisfied with your result it can be reversed. Dr. Vickers uses hyaluronic acid — a substance naturally found in your body’s connective tissue — as a filler.

Why choose Dr. Vickers for your Lip Augmentation?
Dr. Vickers has a passion for providing the optimal patient experience and highest level of subspecialty care. Unlike other practices, Dr. Vickers is the only person who will ever perform any procedure on you at Gulfstream Eye. Non-physician medical personnel and various specialties often choose to offer cosmetic injectables as part of their services.
Botulinum toxin and dermal fillers are not without risk (just ask the internet). Consider carefully before having any procedure performed by a non-physician or a physician without formal training in some field of plastic surgery.
Will I be sedated for the procedure?
No sedation is necessary. However, intraoral anesthetic injections are offered in order to better tolerate the filler.
How long does the procedure take?
Lip filler takes 10 minutes or less for most patients.
What is recovery like?
The lips will temporarily swell after injection. This may give the appearance of an overzealous treatment. This typically resolves within 5-7 days when you are able to appreciate the final result. Avoiding aspirin and other NSAIDs prior to injection and avoiding strenuous exercise in the days after injection will decrease the likelihood of significant swelling.
