Meet Dr. Rob Vickers
Dr. Rob Vickers is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon.
His expertise encompasses both cosmetic and functional eyelid surgeries, including upper and lower blepharoplasty and ptosis repair (droopy lid surgery). Dr. Vickers is also highly skilled in correcting eyelid malpositions such as entropion and ectropion, performing periocular skin cancer removal and reconstruction, surgical treatments for tearing disorders, and addressing issues related to the eye socket.
Additionally, he offers non-surgical eyelid and facial rejuvenation through laser treatments, botulinum toxins, and dermal fillers.
Dr. Vickers is one of only 750 fellows of the American Society of Ophthalmic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASOPRS) worldwide, a testament to his extensive training and dedication to the field.
Educational Background & Professional Journey
Dr. Vickers grew up in West Virginia and began his academic journey at Marshall University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then attended the West Virginia University School of Medicine, graduating in 2006. During his time at WVU, he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and served as class president for four years.
Following medical school, Dr. Vickers completed a general surgery internship and ophthalmology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he served as chief resident in his final year. Dr. Vickers continued his training with a two-year fellowship in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery at the Krieger Eye Institute at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.
Before establishing his own practice, Dr. Vickers gained invaluable experience working in two large multispecialty ophthalmology practices in Georgia and Florida. In his free time he enjoys fishing, travel and spending time with his wife and their two Australian Shepherds.
